Vital Machines Quick Help Guide

A quick reference for care staff using CHMS vitals monitoring devices — covering setup, patient import, saving readings, and troubleshooting.

1. Connecting the Bluetooth Thermometer

  1. Press Menu
  2. Go to System Setup
  3. Select E-Link
  4. Turn on the Bluetooth Thermometer
  5. From the available devices, select HC-08
  6. Under E-Link Device, select HTD8808E/C
  7. Tap Connect
Look for a confirmation message or icon indicating successful pairing.

2. Importing New Patients

  1. Press Menu
  2. Navigate to Patient Management
  3. Select Import
  4. Tap the Date field to auto-fill today's date
  5. Click the magnifying glass icon
  6. Tap Import
New patients will be loaded into the system for selection.

3. Saving Vitals

  1. Tap Select Patient
  2. Find the patient (double-check the room number is correct)
  3. Take the patient's vitals as needed
  4. Tap Save
You can take all vitals before pressing Save. If you press Save after each vital, press Save again at the end to make sure everything is stored.

4. Refreshing the Patient List (Daily)

  1. Tap Select Patient
  2. Select Refresh List
This updates for room changes or discharges. For new admits, use the Importing New Patients steps above.

5. Cycling the Machine (Restart)

  1. Power off the machine
  2. Wait a few seconds
  3. Turn it back on
This simple reset often resolves minor glitches.
